The women's basketball team ran its record to 4-2 with two road victories this weekend. The Hoosiers snapped a two-game losing streak Friday night with a 68-54 victory over Virginia Commonwealth and dominated the second half in Sunday's 72-62 win over Georgetown. \nThe Hoyas opened up a 23-9 lead early on in Sunday's contest, but IU battled back to pull within five before halftime. With GU's all-American candidate, senior forward Rebekkah Brunson, in foul trouble, the Hoosiers took advantage and stifled the Hoya offense to just 20 percent shooting in the second half. \nThe Hoosier offense also turned up the heat after halftime, shooting 46.4 percent from the field and outscoring GU 47-27 in the final frame. \nFreshman guard Leah Enterline stepped up to lead all IU scorers with 17 -- a career high. \nThe Hoosiers opened their successful road swing with a 68-54 pounding of VCU Friday.\nSenior guard Jenny DeMuth set the tone by knocking down her first four three-point attempts on her way to a 27 point, 12 rebound effort -- her fifth career double-double. \n"Winning (Friday) was very important because it builds our confidence," DeMuth said in a statement. "This is huge for us. We put in a new zone offense, but basically we just outplayed them, and we were not going to lose."\nWith her 14-point output in Sunday's win, DeMuth is now averaging 19.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.\nIU coach Kathi Bennett's freshman class is also beginning to pay dividends. Six-foot-7-inch forward Sarah McKay grabbed eight rebounds in Friday's win, and guard Annika Boyd notched eight points in just nine minutes of play in Sunday's 10-point victory.\nIU finally gets to head home after four road games when they come home this Friday for a matchup with Maine. But the home-stand won't last for long as the Hoosiers travel to North Carolina State just two days later.
