WHEELING, Ill. -- A woman was found wrapped in duct tape and inside a plastic garbage can in her ex-husband's storage unit Sunday, a day after she called 911 from the back of his truck saying he had abducted her, authorities said.\nTeri Jendusa-Nickolai, 38, was taken to a hospital. "She does have injuries," said Wheeling Deputy Police Chief John Stone, but he did not know the extent.\nDavid M. Larsen, 39, was arrested Saturday when he reported for work as an air traffic controller at Palwaukee Municipal Airport in Wheeling, about 30 miles northwest of Chicago. The storage facility was located near the airport, Stone said.\nThe couple's daughters -- who were initially reported missing along with their mother -- were found safe Saturday night with a baby sitter in Elmwood Park, another Chicago suburb, after being dropped off by Larsen.\nJendusa-Nickolai, of Wind Lake, Wis., had last been heard from when she made a 911 call from her cell phone Saturday afternoon, saying her ex-husband had bound her hands and placed her in the back of his truck. She told authorities she didn't know where she was.\nStone said authorities in Racine County, Wis., came across paperwork showing that Larsen rented a unit at the storage facility. An employee of the facility then walked past Larsen's unit and heard a muffled sound, Stone said, and Jendusa-Nickolai was discovered inside.\nShe was wrapped in duct tape and had been placed inside "a big plastic garbage can," Stone said.\nJendusa-Nickolai had a restraining order against Larsen for domestic abuse, issued Jan. 22, and the two were in court recently for a child custody hearing, according to Racine County sheriff's officials.\nLarsen was in custody Sunday on an initial charge of false imprisonment, Racine County Sheriff Bob Carlson said. Stone said Wheeling authorities would now take over the investigation and a prosecutor was on the way to the scene to handle any charges that would be filed against Larsen.\nOfficials said Sunday that the couple's daughters -- 6-year-old Amanda Larsen and 4-year-old Holly Larsen -- were safe and healthy in Wisconsin but would not say where or with whom.
