Women's tennis upsets No. 25 Michigan on road\nThis weekend the IU women's tennis team added another upset to its spring season schedule as the team took two big road wins at No. 25 Michigan and Michigan State, and gave its head coach a milestone.\nSaturday against the conference leading Wolverines, IU handed the maize and blue their only home loss in a 4-3 shootout. \nThe Hoosiers started the morning by winning the doubles point and captured the win by taking the final two matches, both in three sets. Senior Linda Tran downed Michigan's highest ranked player, No. 89 Elizabeth Exon at the No. 2 singles position, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 while freshman Laura McGaffigan won at the No. 4 position, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 to give the Hoosiers the one-point win.\nSunday, IU continued its stellar play in defeating Michigan State 6-1, notching IU coach Lin Loring's 600th career win as a Hoosier. IU (13-6, 5-1 Big Ten) moves into second place in the Big Ten going into the final two matches of its four-match road stretch.

Winning streak ended by rivals\nAfter losing to No. 10 Michigan and No. 17 Notre Dame and defeating in-state rival Purdue, the IU women's Varsity 8 winning streak ended Saturday. \nThe Hoosiers were put in a deficit right from the beginning of racing as the Wolverines and the Irish jumped out to quick leads over IU and Purdue. Even though behind, IU put up a solid fight, staying within the two leaders, but increasing its lead over the Boilermakers.\nToward the end of the race, IU struggled and the distance between the Hoosiers and the two leaders stretched further. \nMichigan finished six seconds ahead of Notre Dame, IU finished 11 seconds behind the Irish and six seconds ahead of Purdue.\nThe Hoosiers did not win any of their matches throughout the day, with their highest finish being second in the Novice 4 two-team race.
