IU hoping to tie record

The IU field hockey team continues a four-game road trip this weekend as it heads to Evanston, Ill., to battle Northwestern and the University of New Hampshire. So far, the Hoosiers' road swing has resulted in a win and a loss to Bucknell and Penn State, respectively. \nBoth games this weekend will be played at Lakeside Field on the Northwestern campus. The Hoosiers will take on the Wildcats at 3 p.m. Friday and will face New Hampshire at 2 p.m. Saturday.\nAfter recently losing six of its last eight games, despite a 4-0 start, Northwestern faces the Hoosiers with a 6-6 record. The IU offense will have a tough time against sophomore goaltender Sherri-Anne Nyberg, as the Wildcats' goalie looks to continue her record of 58 saves and 1.60 goals against avearge, including a personal best of three shutouts this season. Northwestern's offensive weapons are highlighted by senior Candice Cooper, who leads the team with 29 points, 57 shots on goal and 13 goals. In support is sophomore Megan Small, with eight points, three goals and two assists. \nNew Hampshire comes into this weekend's action with a 1-9 record but looks to gain ground for coach Robin Balducci, who is in her 13th season with the team. Sophomore forward Caitlin Gillen leads UNH with eight points and four goals. Behind goaltender Christine Buckley's 97 recorded saves this season, junior Kaitlyn Skelley has tallied two goals, while seniors Brittany Schneider and Heidi Anderson have one goal apiece. \nAfter snapping a four-game losing streak by defeating Bucknell University, the Hoosiers look to rebound back to their winning ways behind sophomore offensive star Lydia Schrott, who has scored a school career record 34 points as well as a school record 19 points this season. With a win this weekend, IU can tie the program's mark for wins in a single season with eight.
