IU looks for fresh start

The IU women's volleyball team will hit the road this weekend looking for a fresh start after dropping matches to Ohio State and Penn State in Bloomington last weekend.\nThe Hoosiers could not find their stride against the Buckeyes or the Nittany Lions, which both have programs ranked nationally in the top-10.\nMadison, Wisc., will be the first stop for the Hoosiers, who will face the Badgers at 7 p.m. today.\nWisconsin is currently 9-5 this season with a 3-3 record in the Big Ten, coming off a 3-0 win at Iowa last weekend.\nAfter battling the Badgers, the Hoosiers will head to Evanston, Ill., to face the Northwestern Wildcats at 7 p.m. Saturday. \nThe Wildcats have the same overall record as the Hoosiers at 6-10 but are ahead of IU in the Big Ten standings. Northwestern lost its last match to Minnesota 3-0 but beat Iowa the night before to gain its first Big Ten victory.\nThe Hoosiers will look to pick up their first Big Ten win of the season, something every other team in the conference has already done. Despite losing nine straight matches, IU has shown glimpses of a team which can contend in their conference.\nSenior leaders Katie Pollom and Christina Archibald will try to guide the younger players mentally and physically past their current roadblock. \nAfter their two game road trip, the Hoosiers will return home to face the Golden Gophers of Minnesota Oct. 22 and the Iowa Hawkeyes Oct. 23.
