Hoosiers defeat Wolverines; face Boston College Sunday

IU coach Mike Freitag stressed all season the team's need to finish games. IU sophomore forward Kevin Robson finished the game for the No. 2 seed Hoosiers by scoring the game's lone goal versus IU's Big Ten rival, Michigan, in the match's 87th minute.\nRobson's goal advanced IU to Sunday's third-round match versus Boston College.\nRobson gathered the ball in the upper-near side corner of the 18-yard box, pulled two juke-moves, which allowed him to push past the defense and put the ball near-side post in the lower corner. His moves caught Michigan goalkeeper Peter Dzubay leaning to his right and forced him to dive to his left in a failed attempt to save Robson's shot.\nThe game winner is Robson's first goal of the season and second of his career.\n"Kevin came in and gave us a spark out wide, made things happen," Freitag said. "I thought defensively we were good. We didn't give up much defensively today."\nBecause IU earned the NCAA Tournament's No. 2 seed, the Hoosiers were idle for the first round, while the Wolverines defeated Akron 2-1 in Ann Arbor, Mich.\nIU faced Michigan Oct. 10, and earned its third Big Ten victory of the season when the team defetead the Wolverines 2-1.\nIU faces Boston College, 2 p.m., Sunday, at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington. Boston College hosted Connecticut and defeated the Huskies 1-0. Sam Brill scored the game winner for the Golden Eagles in the match's 60th minute.\nWith the No. 2 seed in this season's NCAA Tournament, IU hosts every game they play in, until the College Cup. The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., is the host site for this season's College Cup from Dec. 10-12.\nMichigan's season ends their season posting a 11-8-4 overall record, while IU moves to 15-4-1.\n"I was happy with the effort," Freitag said. "It didn't come easy tonight because we played a team that I thought maybe went to the ball harder than us at times. They beat us to the ball. But I think alot of that has to do because (Michigan has) been battle tested recently"
