Last Wednesday was, hands down, one of the saddest days in my young political life. Going into Tuesday, I figured if Americans just took a long, hard look at the policies and the record of President George W. Bush, there was no way he would be re-elected. I am not the biggest fan of Sen. John Kerry. This election was truly, as many people put it, a choice between the lesser of the two evils. If I, as well as many other Americans, had the choice to hand pick the guy to challenge Bush, Kerry wouldn't probably have made the final list. But with saying that, Kerry, or perhaps even Don King with his "Only in America" slogan, would have made a better president than Bush.\nThe scariest thing about a Bush victory is the certainty. Usually people get scared if a candidate seems uncertain about what he plans on doing in the White House. That's was one of the biggest knocks against John Kerry. There are certain things I have no doubt in my mind Bush will do in the next four years, whether his supporters will admit it. \nNow, before I move on, I will be a man and admit it - Bush isn't a bad guy. If I was given the chance, I would love to play golf with him or sit down and talk about the great days and players of baseball with him. I will also admit everything he did in the first four years wasn't totally bad. Every once in a while the guy got lucky and did something right. But every once in a while 50 Cent says a line that sounds like intelligence was put into it. Does that mean that I'm ready to crown him the next Biggie or Rakim? Or, because I think Chris Rock would be a great guy to hang out with, does that mean he will make a great president? No. So, can someone please tell me why so many Americans feel Bush has made and will make a great president over the next four years? For those who are to naïve to realize what will be coming in the next four years, let me take a minute to explain it.\nThe next four years will be sure to bring more presidential smooching to the financial elitist of America. He will present more bills and policies that will benefit the rich of America, leaving more of the middle class and poor out in the cold. It is sure to bring more hatred by foreigners because of the pure arrogance of our president to believe the world revolves around the United States. It will lead to more talks about defeating an undefeatable object. Because of this talk about defeating the undefeatable object that is terrorism, it will lead to more wars with countries that are basically pushovers (Iran), while also letting the true guilty guy of America's most heinous crime in history continue to live in caves. Because of these wars, he will lie to the American people about not having a draft, then probably institute a draft somewhere around three months later. It will lead to more liberties being taken away by bills no one can understand that are longer than most textbooks from high school. \nEven though I feel he is a bad president, I'll admit that he's a great salesman. In fact, I'll even argue he's one of the best in history. Because one would never think that someone with such a bad record in all his years of public service could be picked twice to rule a country like America. This is truly one of those moments that make me embarrassed to be an American.
