It took two overtimes and three Hoosiers in double-figures to do it, but IU held on to win against the Purdue Boilermakers, Saturday afternoon in Mackey Arena.\nJunior guard Bracey Wright led the team with 26 points, followed by freshman center D.J. White with 16 and freshman forward Robert Vaden with 11.\nPurdue led for most of the regulation game until IU went on a 12-0 run during the middle of the second half to snatch the lead. With the game deadlocked at 52-52, time was running out. Purdue junior guard David Teague nailed a three to take the lead, but junior guard Marshall Strickland made a layup and the foul to send the game into its first overtime.
Purdue junior forward Carl Landry made the final shot of the overtime, but missed his free-throw that would have given Purdue the win. The game was sent into another overtime with the score at 63-63.\nPurdue senior forward Brandon McKnight missed a last-second three-pointer to hand IU the win.\nIU is now 2-1 in the Big Ten and 7-7 overall. Purdue is still looking for a Big Ten win as they fall to 0-4 in the conference and 4-10 overall.\nThe Hoosiers will face the Michigan Wolverines 8 p.m. Wednesday at Assembly Hall.
