Hoosiers split games over winter break

Over the past couple weeks the Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball squad has amassed a 2-2 record, improving their overall record to 7-5. The Hoosiers' pushed their winning streak to four right before the new year before dropping two straight games to Big Ten opponents.

Dec. 18 vs. Eastern Michigan \nJunior Cyndi Valentin led the Hoosiers with 22 points and 7 rebounds as IU handed Eastern Michigan their first loss of the year, 56-42.

Dec. 22 vs. Virginia Commonwealth\nSenior LeAnn Stephenson (career high 17 points) and sophomore Sarah McKay (10 points, 9 rebounds) carried the cream and crimson in a 63-41 blowout over VCU.

Dec. 30 at Iowa \nIU dropped its first game in Big Ten action to the Hawkeyes, 62-51. Sophomore Leah Enterline knocked down four triples and scored a season high 14 points for the Hoosiers. Valentin added a team-high 15 points in the losing effort.

Jan. 2 at Minnesota\nThe No. 12 Gophers handed the Hoosiers their second consecutive loss in Big Ten action, 61-47. Minnesota's Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year center Janel McCarville took over with a game-high 22 points. Valentin led IU again with 17 points.
