Year after upset, Hoosiers done with Oregon Ducks

IU won't finish 2-game series with Pac-10 opponent

If the Oregon Ducks were looking for revenge after last season when the Hoosiers ended their 21-game home winning streak, they won't get it.\nYesterday IU exercised an option to drop the proposed second game against Oregon that would have been played in Bloomington Sept. 10, IU Athletics Director Rick Greenspan said. The option allowed IU to cancel the game without financial repercussions.\nThey game had been scheduled to air on ESPN.\n"We really appreciate Oregon's and ESPN's cooperation with the schedule change," Greenspan said. "This allows us to pursue some options with our schedule, and we look to have things wrapped up within the next few weeks."\nIU did not announce who will replace the Ducks on their schedule, but Houston will replace IU in Oregon's ESPN game Sept. 1, 2005. IU defeated then-No. 24 Oregon 30-24 Sept. 11 last season.\nThe Hoosier's new head football coach Terry Hoeppner and his staff are currently adding the finishing touches to their 2005 recruiting class. National Signing Day is next Wednesday.\nPractice begins March 22 and will conclude with the Cream-Crimson game on April 15.
