With home wins over Wake Forest and Butler University this weekend, IU's women's tennis team propelled IU coach Lin Loring to the 650 career win mark, pushing him closer to one of the more famous coaches in IU history -- Bob Knight.\nThe Hoosiers shut out Butler in their final win of this weekend (7-0), It was with this win that coach Lin Loring clinched career win number 650, with 608 of these wins being attained at IU. Knight left IU with a career wins mark of 661 and is the current wins leader for all IU athletics.\n"I think it's just a testament to a lot of good players and coaches that this program has seen," Loring said. "We haven't had ten different coaches."\nAt the 650 milestone, Loring is in his 28th year of coaching IU women's tennis and is sitting on a 650-223 career record and a 74 percent winning percentage. He is also the current career wins leader in NCAA women's tennis. Loring won Big Ten Coach of the Year four times, receiving National Coach of the Year two of those years.\nIn tennis action, senior Dora Vastag set the tone for the weekend during the team's first match, a 6-1 victory over No. 30 Wake Forest. The Hungary native managed to best her No. 16 nationally ranked foe, 7-6 (2), 6-1. Vastag is ranked No. 90 herself.\n"I feel like I really put everything together today," Vastag said after her match. "It's just a great confidence booster."\nEarlier in the day, in the No. 1 doubles position, junior Sarah Batty and sophomore Kara Zeder clinched the doubles point in a nail-biter, 9-8 (6). Prior to the match's end, Vastag and sophomore Cecile Perton bested their opponents in the No. 3 position 8-6, as sophomore Laura McGaffigan and freshman Brianna Williams lost to their opponents in the No. 2 position, 8-2. The doubles point came down to a tie breaker in the No. 1 position.\n"It was a good win for us," Zeder said. "I was hoping that we didn't get killed and we came out and won."\nBatty also bested her nationally ranked opponent (6-4, 6-1), Wake Forest's No. 77 Ashlee Davis. Batty is unranked nationally but is ranked No. 24 in the Midwest Region.\nOn Sunday at 10 a.m., the Hoosiers found themselves in familiar territory -- another nail-biter, this time with No. 19 Texas A&M. IU won the doubles point, but the Aggies managed to win four of the six singles matches for the 4-3 win.\nThe match came to down to the final singles match at the No. 5 position, where senior Dominika Walterova was bested by A&M's Marissa Druss (7-5, 6-2).\nWilliams led the Hoosiers by winning at the No. 4 singles spot as well as the No. 2 doubles position with McGaffigan.
