Women's History Month honored with musicians, dance\nWomen's History Month will be honored this weekend with a dance from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at the John Waldron Arts Center, 122 S. Walnut St. Sponsored by Middle Way House, the spring dance will feature local musicians including Code Blue, Women of Mass Percussion and a swing dance ensemble. Admission to the event is $10. Faculty from various departments featured in Bienniel 2005 \nSeveral local artists, professors and directors will engage in a panel discussion "Outside the Metropolis: Creating and Promoting the Visual Arts in Small-Town America" from 5:45 to 7 p.m. today. The talk will feature local ceramist Nell Devitt, IU professor of painting and drawing Barry Gealt, Executive Director of the Indiana Arts Commission Dorothy Ilgen, Bloomington Area Arts Council Gallery Director Miah Michaelsen and IU Assistant Professor of Sculpture Galo P. Moncayo. \nA reception will follow the panel discussion to kick off this year's Bloomington Biennial celebration at 7 p.m. in the IU Art Museum. It will include light refreshments and a cash bar. Beginning Saturday, the museum will feature a sampling of contemporary work by 36 artist/teachers from IU's \nstudio art departments. Works are a collection from various departments such as paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics, hand-made artist's books, metalwork, textiles and digital art.
