The IU men's tennis team suffered an away loss Wednesday in Lexington, Ky., when it fell to the No. 28 Wildcats, 4-3.\nThe No. 65 Hoosiers opened the day by winning the doubles point in convincing fashion, sweeping all three doubles matches. Senior Ryan Recht and his partner, junior John Stone, won at the No. 1 spot for IU, and senior Jakub Praibis and junior Dmytro Ishtuganov won at the No. 2 spot, gaining their 11th doubles win of the year. \nA pair of freshmen, Michael McCarthy and Dara McLoughlin, completed the sweep for IU, winning at the No. 3 spot, 8-4. \nThe tide quickly turned for IU, however, as the Hoosiers lost the first four singles matches they played. \nOn the heels of a rankings catapult that saw Praibis move up almost 50 spots to No. 56, the IU senior dropped a match to No. 6-ranked Jesse Witten, 6-4, 6-0. The second loss of the day came at the No. 2 spot, when senior Ryan Recht dropped a close battle with UK's Matt Emery, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. \nDavid Bubenicek secured a singles win for the Hoosiers at the No. 3 spot, enduring and winning a grueling match with Nate Emge, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5. \nThe Hoosiers next take to the courts March 20, when they will face Toledo at the IU Tennis Center.
