It took 78 minutes for the Hoosier offense to get started, but once it did, the offense lead the two-time defending national champions men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over the University of Dayton.\nA free kick by the Hoosiers with 12 minutes left in the game found sophomore Brian Plotkin on a breakaway. Plotkin's shot found the top corner of the goal and gave the Hoosiers a 1-0 lead.\nThe Hoosier defense, who had previously given up only one goal in four spring matches, gave up the tying goal with five minutes remaining as Dayton player Omar Jaron scored off a Flyer corner kick.\nThe game seemed destined for a tie until strong Hoosier defense caused a Dayton turnover with 1:30 remaining. Working the ball outside, the Hoosiers sent in a cross that landed in a pack of players. Plotkin finally won possession and a shot off the crossbar gave Plotkin his second goal of the night and the Hoosiers the 2-1 lead with less than a minute remaining in the game.
