Neville takes 2 victories at Pepsi Invite

Wilson wins triple jump, Ketchum takes shot put

Competing without its top distance runners, who will debut next weekend, IU finished third in its first trip to the Pepsi Team Invitational with Oregon capturing first.\nSophomore All-American David Neville offered IU's best performance, sweeping the 200 and 400-meter dashes. After posting an NCAA Regional qualifier in the 200 meters last weekend, Neville got his 400-meter qualifier in a narrow 46.20 second victory. \nIU got its only other wins from senior All-American Aarik Wilson in the triple jump and junior Ryan Ketchum in the shot put. The two had a busy weekend, as Wilson also took second in the long jump and Ketchum third in the discus and fifth in the hammer throw. Ketchum met the regional standard in all but the hammer throw, while Wilson met the long jump standard. \nSenior Jake Wiseman hurled the javelin out past 200 feet, and his mark of 61.95 meters was good for second place and met the regional standard. \nSenior Rodney Hollis finished 3rd in the 800 meters, just ducking under the regional standard of 1:50.40 with his 1:50.37 final clocking. \nMost of the Hoosiers will rest next weekend, while some of IU's athletes will chase qualifying marks at the prestigious Mt. Sac Invitational in Walnut, Calif.
