Senior takes third in long jump

Senior Aarik Wilson continued his star-studded senior year by placing third in the long jump Thursday at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif.\nWilson grabbed the led with a jump of 25 feet 11.50 inches, but he was outdone by Oliver Koenig of Iowa State and champion Fabrice Lapierre of Texas A&M University.\nDespite not winning the title, Wilson is ready to take home the gold in the triple jump, he said.\n"Obviously I would have liked to have won," the nine-time All-American said. "But I'll come out bigger and better (Friday) for the triple jump."\nThe qualifying round in the triple jump is slated to begin at 5 p.m.\nJunior Sean Jefferson continued his quest for a title in the 1,500 meters with a 10th place finish in the qualifying round. Jefferson will look to take home the title Saturday night at the Alex G.
