Though upperclassmen may be familiar with the dining services offered at the Indiana Memorial Union, freshman will be given the chance to sample food Today. \nFrom 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., the IMU is throwing open its doors and hosting "Taste of the Union," an event featuring free food and live entertainment for any student who wishes to attend. All the Union's restaurants will have samples, including Delights, Burger King, the Market, Kiva and the Tudor Room. Samples include ice cream, sushi and soy milk. Students can also make their own s'mores, care of IU Outdoor Adventures.\nThe free samples also extend beyond the edible, as students can pick up a greeting card from the UPS Store and hair products from 900 Hair Design.\nSeveral other activities will be offered in various locations in the Union. Poker will take place in the East Lounge, and a driving simulator will be in the Tree Suites. The Back Alley will host ceramic crafts, bowling and billiards. In the Green Awning Entrance, there will be a climbing wall and a football toss.\nThe night's entertainment will start at 5:30 p.m. with live band karaoke in the Frangipani Room and live music in the Commons on the mezzanine level. At 8 p.m., the film "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" will be shown in Dunn Meadow. At 10 p.m., the Frangipani Room will host live stand-up comedy.\nThe event is organized by all participating organizations in the Union, in addition to the IU Credit Union and the IU Bookstore.
