Comparing a program steeped in tradition with a school ready to start its own

INDIANA

- Game Week: "Hoosier Fridays." Local businesses have created incentives for fans showing their "true colors" of cream and \ncrimson.

- Pre-game: "The Walk." \nPlayers walk from buses on 17th Street led by the IU Marching Hundred. "Ride to the Rock," a motorcycle ride from Bedford to Memorial Stadium.

- Stadium Seating: "The Rock" seats 52,180. Coach Hep's goal is to sell 35,000 season tickets.

- Student Unity: Free T-shirt offered with season ticket purchase.

- Special attractions: Cannon from U.S.S. Indianapolis outside \nstadium. Good luck limestone slab soon to come outside locker room.

NOTRE DAME

- Game Week: Friday luncheon for community business leaders. Friday pep rally in basketball arena draws 11,000.

- Pre-game: Victory march led by Irish Guard and Band of the Fighting Irish to the stadium tunnel.

- Stadium Seating: Notre Dame Stadium seats 80,795. Sold out every game but one since 1966.

- Student Unity: "The Shirt," new design each year and worn by most of the student section.

- Special attractions: Touchdown Jesus mural visible from stadium. "Play like a champion today" sign in locker room.
