The IU women's volleyball team will host the T.I.S. Bookstore Invitational starting today coming off a 2-1 finish at the Winthrop Invitational last \nweekend.\nThe Hoosiers will face Western Michigan University at 7 p.m. Friday before moving on to play Arkansas State University and the University of Dayton Saturday.\nA relentless presence at the net has led head coach Katie Weismillers' team to being ranked No. 9 in the nation in blocks per game with 3.41. At the same time, sophomore middle blocker Annie Moddrell improved to sixth in the nation, averaging 1.83 blocks per game.\nLast weekend, the Hoosiers won their first two matches of the weekend, beating the University of North Florida 3-0 and Furman University 3-1, before falling to Winthrop University 3-1 in the tournament championship. \n"We just have to be able to finish the games we are in. We need to win the tight games. We just have not been able to win the two-point games this season," Weismiller said in a statement. "Offensively, we are getting better and better. Our blocks are there, we just need to work on our defense. We need to work on our overall play." \nSenior outside hitter Rachel Gerling and freshman outside hitter Erica Short were named to the all-tournament team for their performances.\nAll of this weekend's matches will be held at University Gym, at the corner of 10th Street and the Bypass.
