1 and done for Hoosiers this weekend in Columbus, Ohio

IU travels to Ohio State in lone game of weekend

For the first time all season, the IU women's soccer team will only play one game over the weekend, tonight at Ohio State. The team is used to playing two games a weekend, one Friday and one Sunday.\n"There is definitely a mental advantage," said senior captain Kristen Zmijewski. "Knowing we only have one game, we can go all out and then we can let our bodies recover."\nGoing to Columbus and winning is not the easiest of feats however, as the Buckeyes are 24-2-1 at home since 2003.\n"There's no intimidation walking in there," said head coach Mick Lyon. "We'll look to use that stat as inspiration going in."\nLast weekend, the Hoosiers accomplished two feats for the first time since 1994, one good and one not so good. IU beat then-No. 22 Michigan Friday but then lost to Michigan State Sunday, both of which the team hadn't done in 11 years.\nThe Hoosiers are still looking to get their offense into full gear, which as of Sept. 26 was ranked last in goals in the Big Ten. However, Lyon feels the team had a great week of training and is ready to come out strong against Ohio State.\n"Everyone's spirits are high," Lyon said. "Despite our mixed results, we're keeping everyone's confidence up, because the soccer has been strong all year."\nWhile the offense has struggled, the defense has been solid, but senior goalkeeper Lauren Fabbro thinks it can be better.\n"We have to stick to our game plan," Fabbro said. "We have to keep tight in the back and work on our communication."\nIU will be away again next weekend, before returning home for its final three games of the regular season.
