The IU men's golf team concluded the Big Ten/Pac Ten Challenge in Chicago yesterday, finishing 11th in a 14-team field with a three-round total of 886. Host team Northwestern won the tournament by netting an 860 and was followed in the top five by Minnesota; Arizona State University; University of California, Los Angeles; and Washington University.\nFreshman Drew Allenspach led the Hoosiers, tying for 18th place with a 219. Sophomore Santiago Quirarte shot one stroke back at 220, which tied him for 23rd. Freshman Jorge Campillo finished outside of the top 25 for the first time as a Hoosier, coming in at a tie for 42nd. Seniors Scott Seibert and Brad Marek finished out the IU lineup with ties for 57th and 64th, respectively.\nThis is the Hoosiers' third consecutive tournament in which the host team took the title. Minnesota won the Gopher Invitational two weeks ago, while Michigan won the Wolverine Invitational last week.\nThe Hoosiers' final tournament of the fall season is Monday and Tuesday at the Xavier Invitational. The team then takes a break until February, where it opens up the spring campaign Feb. 19 at the Club De Golf Santa Anita NT Classic in Guadalajara, Mexico.
