The absence of sophomore forward D.J. White left the Hoosiers with many questions, but senior forward Marco Killingsworth had all the answers in Thursday night's 96-49 home win over the University of Indianapolis.\nKillingsworth scored 16 of his 22 points in the paint, seeing limited action in the second half. Coach Mike Davis rested the senior and the rest of the starters for most of the second half in light of the 65-28 lead at the time.\n"I thought Marco was good tonight," Davis said. "There is no silver lining in losing D.J., though. He and D.J, would have been, I think, one of the best front courts in the country."\nIU's big men had 30 total points in the paint, including two points from senior forward Sean Kline and eight points from freshman center Ben Allen, who finished with 13 on the night. Sophomore forward Robert Vaden and freshman forward Cem Dinc each added two.\n"Sean Kline stepped up. Marco Killingsworth stepped up, as well as Cem Dinc," Allen said. "We're confident they'll be able to step up in the games to come."\nSenior guard Marshall Strickland dominated early, scoring 13 of the Hoosiers first 17 points. He finished the evening with 15 points after exiting early in the second half with the rest of the starters.\n"Coach (Donnie) Marsh pulled me aside and said he wanted me to look for my shot tonight and I didn't really do it last game," Strickland said. "He knows that's an important part that we need to have -- that outside threat complimenting our big guys."\nThe Hoosiers held a stranglehold all night on the Greyhounds, holding them to less than 20 points in the first half and 29 points in the second half, when three IU freshmen were on the floor for the majority of the time.\nIndianapolis shot 25.4 percent from the field and 25 percent from beyond the arc.\n"Our defense was good. It wasn't great -- it was good," Davis said. "We've got to get better in transition. We still have to block out and rebound the basketball a lot better."\nJunior guard Earl Calloway added six points and dished out 10 assists without committing any turnovers.\nVaden finished with eight points and grabbed four rebounds.\nSophomore guard Adam Ahlfeld saw time for the second consecutive game, taking the floor with 9:07 left in the second half. He hit one 3-pointer, bringing the crowd to a roar and his point total to five in IU's two exhibition games.\nAs for what IU really gained out of two exhibition blowouts, Kline said not too much.\n"It's new blood for you to play," Kline said. "You get someone different than just pounding on each other each and every day of practice"
