With her second victory at IU, women's basketball coach Sharon Versyp reached 100 career wins. \nIn the team's first road game of the season, the Hoosiers (2-3) defeated Belmont University 68-51 Tuesday night.\nAfter struggling with poor shooting in a loss to Bowling Green State University in the championship game of the Hampton Inn Classic Saturday, the Hoosiers responded by shooting 44.9 percent from the field in handing Belmont its first loss of the season. \nIU was led by four Hoosiers scoring in double digits. Senior guard Cyndi Valentin had a team-high 18 points, followed by senior guard Jenny DeMuth and sophomore guard Nikki Smith who each had 16. Senior center Angela Hawkins added 10 points.\nThe Hoosiers combined their good shooting with solid defense. IU held the Bruins to 25.8 percent from the field. \nLed by freshman Whitney Thomas' nine boards, the Hoosiers out-rebounded Belmont by 45-33.\n"I am very pleased on how we rebounded from Saturday's loss," Versyp said in a statement. "It feels good to get our first road win of the season. The keys to winning this game were to get to the free-throw line and rebound. We did both very well tonight"
