Moving on despite davis' resignation, season not over yet

Hoosiers hope to put up fight against Illini Sunday Iowa prevails 70-67

It would be an understatement to say the Hoosiers are traveling to Illinois with more than basketball on their minds.\nTheir coach announced his resignation Thursday, talk of transferring now surrounds players and Assembly Hall has looked like a media service center lately.\nBut regardless, IU begins its late-season NCAA Tournament push, in which IU coach Mike Davis said the Hoosiers must win four out of their last five games in order to earn a tournament bid.\n"I am stepping aside, but I am still coaching these guys," Davis said. "This is my basketball team. These guys have a chance to make it to the tournament. Our guys are going to fight."\nIU (13-9, 5-6 Big Ten) will travel to Champaign, Ill., Saturday to take on the No. 13 Illini (21-4, 7-4), whom the Hoosiers defeated last month by just two points. In that meeting, preseason Conference Player of the Year Dee Brown scored just five points.\n"We just need to go out there and fight as hard as we can for coach and for ourselves," junior Roderick Wilmont said. "We are the ones that are going to be putting the ball in the hole and diving on the floor. There are little things that we have to take care of the next couple weeks. I think that we can get it done, and it can still be a great year for us"
