Senior Cyndi Valentin on possible tournament berth: "I have no idea what the committee thinks. There are a lot of great teams out there so I don't really know."
Coach Sharon Versyp on her first year at IU: "The biggest thing when I took over the job was changing the dynamic of the culture and having a winning attitude. Last year, we were 3-13 and this year, we won 11 Big Ten games and got to the Final Four and people probably didn't think we could do a lot of that. To be able to do this in the first year here with this special group of ladies is a win-win situation for us. It hurts because you never want to lose; someone always has to lose in the end, but I'm very proud."
Versyp on expectations in Big Ten Tournament: "We weren't supposed to win. That's what people think. We've been underdogs all year; we weren't rated. We weren't supposed to do anything so ever since I took the job, it's been about getting better everyday and trying to get in the postseason so we had no pressure whatsoever."
Versyp on possible NCAA Tournament berth: "Depends on what they look at. If they're looking at strength of schedule, the only bad loss we had was Cincinnati. Other teams get beat by 35 or 40 and still get in the tournament, so it's not up to me, it's up to the committee. Knowing that we played three games in four days, and we turned a corner and beat some great teams. And we beat them on the road, not at home. I hope these young ladies get the opportunity, but if not, there's the postseason WNIT and we'll get very fired up for that"
