While most students in Florida were thinking about beaches and fun, the members of the IU softball team won six games and took home a tournament title. \nThe team looks to carry that momentum into this weekend's IU Classic when it takes on Western Kentucky and Wright State.\nThe Hoosiers went 6-2 during spring break, including winning the Florida State Invitational, their first tournament title since 2004. IU beat two nationally ranked teams, No. 15 University of Nebraska and No. 25 University of North Carolina, on its way to the championship.\nJust three days before the start of the tournament, IU played a hard-fought game against then-No. 21 Louisville, but couldn't get the win.\n"The difference between the Louisville game and then the two games we played in Florida came down to putting it all together," said coach Stacy Phillips. "We pitched very well, attacked the ball well defensively, and then hitting-wise, we had people that stepped up."\nAlthough IU went on to lose its next two games before returning home, the team members still feel confident heading into their own tournament this weekend.\n"Now that we are back home, we're getting our confidence back," said senior Mariangee Bogado. "We're just perfecting everything back in practice."\nBogado was one of three Hoosiers to star in the Florida State Invitational and make the All-Tournament team. Senior Lauren Hines and junior Kim Richards, who also won the MVP of the tournament, were the other honorees.\n"It's definitely an honor," Hines said. "I felt fortunate to be nominated and I felt everyone else truly deserved to be on the team."\nThe Hoosiers hope to combine the momentum from winning the Florida State Invitational, a good week of practice and home environment to roll over the competition this weekend.\n"If we play our game, I really believe that we're able to beat most teams in the country," Phillips said. "And now instead of just telling the team that, they have been able to see it and do it. We're definitely ready to go out and win another tournament"
