After a week of traveling to Florida and undoing a four-game losing streak, the IU men's tennis team continued to pile up non-conference wins heading into the Big Ten season. The Hoosiers extended their winning streak to six after defeating Vincennes 7-0 Saturday at the IU Tennis Center, followed by a 6-1 win against No. 39 Penn State.\n"We have been playing well for the past couple of weeks," said IU coach Ken Hydinger. "We need to keep it going, because we have some tough matches coming up."\nThe Hoosiers (12-6, 1-2) shared common defeats with the Nittany Lions against No. 3 Illinois. That defeat, however, was the last loss for Penn State before succumbing to IU. The win also marks the first time the cream and crimson defeated a ranked opponent, dropping its first six against ranked foes. \nIU took the doubles point after wins by senior Dmytro Ishtuganov and sophomore Dara McLoughlin at the No. 1 spot, 8-5, and a victory by senior Neil Kenner and sophomore Michael McCarthy at the No. 3 position.\n"I love it when he does (pumps me up) and he loves it when I do that for him," Kenner said. "It's good all around, for us and for the team."\nThe Hoosiers took five out of the six singles matches.\nPlaying with a muffled singles lineup, the Hoosiers earned a win against the Blazers before heading to State College, Pa. IU took doubles on the outset of the match, winning all matches in convincing fashion.\n"I feel the right energy out there and I feel like we're heading in the right direction," Hydinger said. "I think we're competing harder and we're definitely moving better. But we still got some things we've got to do"
