IU might have hit its ceiling in only the fourth game of the season. With 10:30 left in a game against No. 1-ranked Duke, senior forward Marco Killingsworth finished a fast break with a thundering dunk and a quick swing of his fist.\nUnfortunately, from there the Hoosiers spent most their time trying to crawl out of the basement. A loss to Indiana State dropped IU fans back to earth, and then a short win streak was marred by a stretch of seven losses in eight games. \nHead coach Mike Davis resigned after a loss at Penn State and though the team rebounded from there and made the NCAA Tournament -- nothing could top that Killingsworth dunk.\nThose two points peaked the IU excitement level. A packed Assembly Hall exploded into a deafening roar, the Hoosiers had taken the lead from the best team in the nation and Killingsworth hit 30 points with a quarter of the game still to be played.\nAt the time, it looked like IU could be a title contender, and it looked like Killingsworth wanted a Wooden Award -- at the time.
