Seniors garner conference honors

Seniors Mariangee Bogado, Lauren Hines and Megan Roark received Big Ten conference recognition as announced by the conference May 12. Hines received the first team All-Big Ten as a right-fielder for the Hoosiers, Bogado grabbed second team pitching recognition and Roark took home the conference sportsmanship award.\n"(Megan) stepped up to every role she's been challenged with and worked hard at it," said IU head softball coach Stacey Phillips. "This award truly explains the Megan Roark character." \nHines led the Hoosiers with a .417 batting average, which ranks her among the top 10 in school history. She was also the leader in an offense that produced a school record 39 home runs on the season. Hines registered nine of those 39 home runs, sending her career total to 24, also a top 10 mark in IU history.\n"It shows the great work she's put into this program," Phillips said. "She's a dedicated indivual. It's a tremendous honor to be recognized as one of the top three outfielders in the Big Ten and to put IU on the map"
