Jacqueline Jones LaMon, third year M.F.A. student in poetry at IU and Associate Director of the IU Writers' Conference, is the author of a new book of poetry on Quercus Review Press, Gravity, U.S. She will celebrate the book's release and present material from her new book at 9 p.m. June 9 at Boxcar Books, located at 310 S. Washington St. \nOther events at Boxcar Books this summer:\n"The Marriage of the First Person and the Hollow Horn," an "Art Happening," is a throwback to the happenings of the 60s, and there will be performance, music, visual and conceptual art. The event will be at 6 p.m. June 16.\nAt 7 p.m. June 20 Kelli Shay Hicks, Ghost2Falco and an as-yet undetermined guest will host a show that will include a dynamic medley of experimental rock, pop folk, punk and acoustic music. The show will also have timeless, haunting and beautiful lyrical stylings. This troupe of independent thinkers, songwriters, artists and activists will be bringing a coloring book-making workshop, acoustic music and a hearty collection of crafts, books and magazines.
