After going scoreless in the first half for the second straight game, the No. 15 Hoosiers used two second-half goals to defeat Miami the University of Ohio RedHawks, 2-1.\nAll-American senior forward Lydia Schrott scored her Big Ten-leading sixth goal in the 52nd minute to put the Hoosiers up 1-0.\nJust four minutes later, senior back Morgan Miller scored off of a penalty corner to give the Hoosiers a 2-0 lead. The goal by Miller was her third of the season.\nThe Hoosiers were led by the continued strong effort by junior goalkeeper Haley Exner. Exner allowed only one goal, in the 62nd minute, and kept the RedHawks from tying the score late in the game. In four games this season, Exner has allowed only four goals, including a shutout against Longwood University on Aug. 27.\nIn a losing effort, the RedHawks outshot the Hoosiers 11-9. The Hoosiers also had fewer penalty corners with five, as opposed to the RedHawks's six.\nThe IU field hockey team will return to the state of Ohio this weekend. On Friday, the Hoosiers will take on the Ohio University Bobcats in Athens, Ohio at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Hoosiers will play against the Radford University Highlands, also in Athens.
