Hoosiers seek revenge against No. 15 Iowa at 'the Rock' Saturday

No rest for the weary.\nComing from a last-second 34-32 victory at Illinois Oct. 7, the IU football team hosts No. 15 Iowa this weekend. \nKickoff is scheduled for noon Saturday at Memorial Stadium, but fans can also catch the game on ESPN2.\n"(The win) is just something to get us started again," junior linebacker Adam McClurg said. "Coming off that three-game losing streak, it was like nothing was going right for us. It was something we needed to build our momentum going into the next couple games."\nThe win could not have come at a better time for the Hoosiers after a three-game home stand that saw them go 0-3 and drop to 2-3 on the season. The win was also IU's first Big Ten road win since a victory against Michigan State in 2001.\nThis week's Big Ten contest is the first of two straight weekends in which the Hoosiers face highly-ranked conference opponents. This weekend's opponent, the Hawkeyes, are ranked No. 15 in the national polls. Next weekend, the Hoosiers head to Columbus to take on No. 1 Ohio State.\nIU coach Terry Hoeppner is a fan of the Hawkeyes and hopes IU can follow in Iowa's footsteps in the years to come.\n"Iowa doesn't rebuild," Hoeppner said. "They reload through recruiting and development of their young players. They're a Big Ten contender year in and year out. That's where we want to be."\nFor the Hoosiers, regaining home field advantage this weekend against Iowa is key, sophomore wide receiver James Bailey said.\n"Being at home is always an advantage," Bailey said. "All we're doing now is trying to defend 'The Rock' and come out and get Iowa like we know we can."\nComing off a strong freshman campaign in 2005, Bailey is the second leading receiver for the Hoosiers this season with 18 catches for 185 yards.\nAgainst Iowa, IU will face one of the Big Ten's most dangerous offensive weapons: senior quarterback Drew Tate. The senior is third in the conference in total offense (247.2 yards per game) and second in passing average per game with 237.8 yards.\nTate will throw against an IU secondary that made key stops when it needed to Saturday but also gave up several big plays, including a 53-yard flea-flicker pass and a double-reverse handoff pass, both of which resulted in touchdowns.\n"We focus on one game at a time," McClurg said. "We've got Iowa this week, so we'll worry about the rest next week. We've got to get the win to keep our bowl hopes alive, so that's the main thing."\nAlso this week, junior kicker Austin Starr was named one of three Collegiate Place-Kicker Stars of the Week. The junior hit the game-winning field goal in IU's 34-32 victory against Illinois as time expired to give the Hoosiers the win in Champaign.
