Grammy winner Ralph Stanley comes to BCT

At 8 p.m. today, bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys will perform at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E. Kirkwood Ave. \nStanley, 79, has been performing since 1946, according to a news release from the theater.\nHe contributed to the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack, which won a Grammy for album of the year in 2002. That year he also won a Grammy for best country male vocalist performance, beating Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, Lyle Lovett and Ryan Adams. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2000. He received the Living Legend award from the Library of Congress and the first ever Traditional American Music award from the National Endowment for the Humanities.\nStanley performs 150 to 200 shows each year, according to the theater.\nTickets for his stop in Bloomington are nearly sold out, but a few can still be purchased online at http://www.bloomingtonarts.info and at the Sunrise Box Office, located at the theater, for $25.
