The No. 20 IU water polo team headed out west to the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., to face some of the nations' top ranked teams. And the competition lived up to its billing as the Hoosiers dropped all four games they played, falling to 3-5 on the season. \nThe Hoosiers were defeated by No. 5 Hawaii and No. 4 California by scores of 12-5 and 13-5, respectively. On Sunday they faced No. 2 UCLA and were beaten by a score of 10-3. The Hoosiers capped off the weekend by dropping their final game to Arizona State. \nDespite the final scores, head coach Barry King said there were still positives the Hoosiers can take back to Bloomington.\n"Maggie Hannon and Brittany Estrada, even though their names don't show up in the scoring columns all that much, I thought that they did a great job," King said. "They had to take a lot more action than they're used to. They did a great job stepping up against real strong opposition and playing a lot of minutes they're not necessarily used to and did a terrific job." \nHannon, a sophomore center, stepped up in place of senior Melissa Soria, who missed the tournament due to personal reasons.\nWhile not necessarily expecting to play heading into the tournament, Hannon embraced the opportunity. \n"Coach (King) told me that it was time for me to step up," Hannon said. "I was really excited to get the chance to play against some of the best teams in the country"
