Buskirk-Chumley Theater features ‘Amadeus’

Cardinal Stage Company brings show to town

The Cardinal Stage Company, which brought “A Year With Frog and Toad” to the Buskirk-Chumley Theater last year, presents the Tony- and Academy Award-winning “Amadeus,” running this week.\n“Amadeus” tells the story of Vienna court composer Antonio Salieri and his confession of the untimely murder of musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Presented as a series of flashbacks, Salieri guides audiences through the 18th-century court of Emperor Joseph II and reveals himself as the lead conspirator against Mozart.\n“Amadeus” was written by Peter Shaffer, and this particular production is directed by Randy White. The Cardinal Stage Company is located in and is dedicated to advancing professional theater in Bloomington, according to its Web site.\n“Amadeus” will run at 8 p.m. today through Saturday, as well as a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday. Tickets are $15 for students, $18 for seniors and $21 for general admission. They can be purchased online at www.bloomingtonarts.info or at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E. Kirkwood Ave.
