The IU Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Alumni Association will honor its 10-year anniversary this weekend with a special performance from nationally renowned comedian Kate Clinton. Clinton is a “faith-based, tax-paying, America-loving political humorist and family entertainer,” according to her Web site. \nThe performance begins at 8 p.m. Saturday at the IU auditorium, and there will be a dinner and a silent auction before the show at the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center, starting at 5 p.m. Saturday. Tickets for Clinton’s show are $35 or $20 for IUB students with a student ID. The dinner and auction is an additional $35. All tickets can be purchased through the IU Auditorium or Ticketmaster. Proceeds will go toward the IU GLBT Alumni Association and its philanthropic activities, according to the organization’s press release. \nThe group offers two scholarships to IU students, including the Emergency Scholarship for students who have lost financial support from their families after disclosing their sexual orientation or gender identity, according to the press release.
