BAAC awards 23 area grants

The Bloomington Area Arts Council awarded 23 area arts organizations with Regional Arts Partnership Grants. The funding, which totalled $73, 229, recognizes the effort of various organizations to present and promote the arts in the region, according to a press release from the BAAC. For the 2008 fiscal year, 33 area arts organizations applied for a total of $193, 270 in grant funding. The winning organizations include the IU School of Fine Arts, the Bloomington Playwrights Project and Windfall Dancers. The grants, awarded anually, are made available through the Indiana Arts Commission’s “Regional Arts Partnership” program and are supported by the Indiana State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
