IU Auditorium to host award-winning ‘Movin’ Out’

Rock musical set in 1960s features Billy Joel tunes

“Movin’ Out,” a high-energy rock musical, will be coming to the IU Auditorium 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. The musical is the story of young America in a time divided by the Vietnam War. Following the story of a group of friends growing up in Long Island in the 1960s, “Movin’ Out” is set to the tunes of Billy Joel, including “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant,” “The Stranger,” “Uptown Girl” and “Only the Good Die Young.” \nCreated by choreographer and Indiana native Twyla Tharp, Movin’ Out has been on Broadway and on its first national tour from January 2004 to January 2007. This second national tour started out in Atlantic City, N.J. It has won and been nominated for numerous awards, including the 2003 Tony Award for Best Musical and the 2003 Theatre World Award. \nTickets are still available at the IU Auditorium Web site at www.iuauditorium.com.
