IU track and fields names new assistant coach

IU track and field coach Ron Helmer announced Abbie Stechshulte as a new assistant coach.

Stechshulte competed at IU last season after transferring from West Virginia, where she competed under Jeff Huntoon, the team's current associate head coach.

While at West Virginia, Stechshulte earned a bachelor's degree in speech pathology and audiology from West Virginia as well as a master's degree in kinesiology at IU.
"Abbie brings a continuing enthusiasm for the vision and growth of our program," Helmer said. "She did so as a fifth-year transfer a year ago and will be an important part of our coaching team as we move into the future. I've gotten to know Abbie, first while competing against her and then while she helped lead our IU team during a year of transition and I have complete faith that she is the right person for the job and the challenges we face as we work towards our goal of building a championship team."
