Congratulations on your anthem, Mr. President

So, now we know who the next president of the United States of America is. Congratulations, Mr. President, the pleasantries are over.

No more campaign-induced smiles and waves. No more baby kissing or schmoozing of the American populace.

Now you are honored with the duty of steering this big ship we call America on less than five hours of sleep each night and no personal time. Welcome, we salute you.
But hey, let’s look at the bright side: You now have your very own anthem. “Hail To The Chief” will follow you around for the next four years and haunt you for many after.
It’s all right though, nothing can be much worse than having the “Team America” theme song stuck in your head.

At least with this snazzy tune, you can be comforted by the fact that not only will the press spread the word about your mistakes, but so will the music industry. And they’ll do it with rhythm.

But I suppose it’s necessary to have a little bit of satire to balance out the American pride of all of those country singers.

I mean, who can deny the breathtaking vocal stylings of some of our beloved country boys, such as Toby Keith and Tim McGraw? No one can sing about American loyalty like these fellas. Except for maybe the new strand of musicians turned patriotic rock.
Our political situation, specifically overseas, has influenced musicians to go back to the drawing boards and write a single with some meaning.

Kid Rock, for example, now has a new music video called “Warrior” that is playing in theaters all across the country to represent the National Guard.

Sounds cheesy, yes? Well, that’s up for your own interpretation.

Another band that should be added to this list is Metallica. It has stepped up to the plate with a song out of nowhere, “The Day That Never Comes.”

So go on now, Mr. President, change the world and motivate some artists while you’re at it. And maybe if you’re lucky, Paris Hilton will sing “Happy Birthday to You,” Marilyn Monroe style.
