Third Day, a popular Christian rock band, will perform Friday at the IU Auditorium in collaboration with New Covenant Productions. Tickets are still available.
Third Day, a band from the 1990s, will perform along NEEDTOBREATHE and Revive.
The band last released its 11th studio album, “Revelation,” on July 29. The group has won three Grammy Awards, along with many Gospel Music Association Dove awards.
The group last performed at the IU Auditorium in 2002, Maria Talbert, events manager of the IU Auditorium, said.
Because the company had previously worked with the Auditorium, they wanted to collaborate with them for this particular tour, said Mike Clark, founder of New Covenant Productions.
As the production company rounded out new tour dates, they decided they wanted to perform in some theaters such as the auditorium, Clark said.
The auditorium also worked with New Covenant to organize the show, Talbert said.
Ticket sales and promotions were just some of the ways the Auditorium aided the company.
“In talking with some of our student staffs, they sound like a really great band,” Talbert said. “There is a lot of excitement among those who have heard them.”
New Covenant has worked with Third Day for a long time, and they do exceptional work, Clark said.
It is a convenient concert for students, sophomore Jeff Merz said.
“I just like their style of music,” Merz said. “They are one of the more musically talented Christian groups.”
