Reports: Dungy to announce retirement today

Multiple media outlets are reporting this afternoon Colts coach Tony Dungy will announce his retirement at a 5 p.m. news conference today in Indianapolis.

In 13 seasons as a head coach – seven in Indianapolis and six in Tampa Bay – Dungy compiled an impressive resume.

The only black coach to win a Super Bowl, Dungy is the only coach in NFL history to reach the playoffs in 10 consecutive seasons and is the only coach to preside over six straight seasons with 12 or more wins.

His 148 career wins are the 19th most all time.

The Colts have designated associate head coach Jim Caldwell as Dungy's replacement.
