Author Alexander McCall Smith will speak on April 20 at IU, according to a press release.
McCall Smith, the author of “No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” “The Sunday Philosophy Club,” “44 Scotland Street” and “Portuguese Irregular Verbs” will speak at 5 p.m. at the IMU Whittenberger Auditorium. He will be speaking as a guest of the College Arts and Humanities Institute.
McCall Smith, a native of what is now Zimbabwe, is a professor emeritus at the University of Edinburgh. His visit to IU is part of a United States tour that coincides with a television adaptation of one of his books, “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency” on HBO. The show will debut on March 29.
His 10th novel, “Tea Time for the Traditionally Built,” will be published in North America in April.
