The IU women's basketball team missed a last-second shot to tie the game against Purdue this afternoon in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis.
The two teams were tied going into the final two minutes. But after several turnovers a Purdue player was able to force a steal and make a break-away lay-up with about 35 seconds left.
IU was unable to convert on their last possession and Purdue clinched the game with two late free throws.
In the first half the Hoosiers jumped out to an early lead which at one point was 14, but Purdue fired back in the second half.
IU will now have to wait and see if it is selected as an at-large bid to the women's NCAA tournament.
