NCAA or WNIT?
The IU women's basketball team will learn their post-season fate at 6 p.m. today when the NCAA selection show airs on ESPN.
The Hoosiers will gather in a room at Coaches Bar and Grill for a NCAA Selection Show Party to see if they will receive an at-large bid to the big dance.
Charlie Creme, the women’s basketball analyst for ESPN, listed the Hoosiers as
one of the first four teams out of NCAA Tournament consideration.
If IU does not receive a bid, the team will most likely play in the WNIT for the third consecutive year. Depending on a seeding for the WNIT, the Hoosiers could host a game at Assembly Hall.
The Hoosiers were strong out of the gate this season, winning seven of eight. But the team stumbled down the stretch, finishing 5-7 in the last 12 games.
The team finished the season at 19-10 overall, 11-7 conference after a heartbreaking loss to Purdue in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament.
