Men guilty in 2003 killing of family on turnpike

A jury has convicted two men of gunning down a family of four on a Florida turnpike to settle a drug debt.

Daniel Troya and Ricardo Sanchez Jr. could face the death penalty for shooting Jose Luis Escobedo and his wife and two young sons. Their bodies were found on the roadside on Oct. 13, 2006.

A federal jury deliberated for three days before convicting the 25-year-old men of armed carjacking resulting in deaths, conspiracy, weapons counts and drug offenses Thursday.
Their attorneys had argued the family was likely killed by Mexican drug lords.

Two others on trial for drug conspiracy and weapons charges also were convicted. They face life in prison.
