One Bloomington and two Bedford residents were arrested Monday after a Bloomington Police Department officer broke up a drug deal.
Bloomington resident Brandy Bay, 26, faces charges of dealing a narcotic drug and possession of a narcotic drug.
Bedford residents Daniel Reed, 25, and Stacie Reed, 32, face charges of conspiracy to possess a narcotic drug and neglect of a dependent, BPD Lt. David Drake said, reading from a police report.
Officer Dana Runnebohm was patrolling the area near Scottish Inn, 126 Franklin Rd., in an unmarked police car. While she was driving through the parking lot of the business, she saw what appeared to be a drug transaction in a dark-colored pickup truck, Drake said.
Bay came out of the hotel, walked up to the truck and turned over something with silver or foil packaging to Stacie Reed, who was sitting on the passenger side of the pickup truck.
When Runnebohm approached, Bay pulled her hand out of the truck and placed it in her pocket, Drake said.
Runnebohm found five bindles of heroin in Bay’s pants pocket.
Daniel and Stacie Reed’s 2-year-old son was sitting between them, Drake said. The Reeds also were found to have left a 12-year-old child alone at their home in Bedford. Runnebohm arrested Bay and Daniel and Stacie Reed, and the couple’s two children were taken into custody, Drake said.
