More info The Cardinal Stage Company will sponsor the final weekend of a production of this Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning play, which was turned into a movie late last year. Tickets are $24 for adults and $15 for students for the Friday and Saturday evening performances and $21 for adults and $13 for students for the Saturday matinee and Sunday performances.

More info Six Bloomington-based songwriters from the ’60s and early ’70s will return to the Buskirk-Chumley for a night of music and reflection on the development of the Bloomington arts scene. Performers will include Caroline Peyton,, whose vocal work has appeared in severalDisney animated movies,, and Marc Haggerty, who spent time in the ’80s working as a trapeze artist for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus, among several others. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Runcible Spoon and at the Buskirk-Chumley.

“The Tempest”

More info South African actor Stephen Gurney performs along with IU students in the final performances of this Shakespearean play, which will be reinterpreted as taking place on an imaginary island off the coast of South Africa. More info The ensemble Studio in Bloom will put on a special performance for school-age children in honor of Mother’s Day. The free concert will focus on works by Maurice Ravel, David Shapiro and Paul Reade.
