IU athletics administration member moves on

For IU’s Senior Associate Athletics Director Tim Fitzpatrick, an offer from a Texas university was too good to pass up.

Fitzpatrick has taken a position as athletics director of Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi and is planning to leave IU after four years of service to the University athletics department.

“I have prepared all my life to lead a Division I athletic program, and this is a great opportunity to serve a growing program in a wonderful community,” Fitzpatrick said in a Corpus Christi press release. “Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend are great places to work and live. My family and I look forward to building a life with the Islanders.”

IU Director of Athletics Fred Glass said he wishes nothing but the best to his former employee.

“Tim’s dedication and service to IU for nearly five years should be commended,” Glass said. “His efforts behind the scenes on many projects such as the Big Ten Network, North End Zone facility and the Basketball Development Center are among the examples of his leadership. We wish him nothing but the best at Texas A & M-Corpus Christi.”
