The 2009 women’s soccer season is officially under way. With their Aug. 21 home opening 2-0 victory against Wright State, the Hoosiers extended their consecutive shutout streak to 360 minutes. The scoreless minutes date back to last season, when IU won its last three contests and didn’t participate in postseason play.
In 2008, the Hoosiers lost seven games by one goal, including five straight 1-0 losses. They’re looking to jumpstart their 2009 season with strong defense and more experience and repetition from spring practices.
